Tulia Police Department Adds Public Information Officer

The Tulia Police Department recently added a public information officer to their roster. Shanae Thompson, a Tulia native, has been with the police department for two years. She serves as the Communications Director of Operations and will be the department’s first public information officer.

According to Chief Jeffrey Yarbrough, Thompson’s commitment and dedication to public service made her the best choice for the position. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my community and the police department,” said Thompson. “I look forward to working with the media and keeping the community informed about what we do as a department.”

Yarbrough said, “The police department has worked hard to create strong and positive relationships with the media. Shanae will be instrumental in making our department more transparent by providing the public with complete, accurate, and timely information.”

Thompson recently completed the Basic Public Information Officer course at the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
